Profurious Park and Pipe Series
Profurious kicks off again this year with a New Year's evening Rail Jam! Several competitive divisions for men, women, skiers and snowboarders (all judged separately). Profurious progression, fun and fortune in the making!
The format of the series consists of 5 divisions - 10 and under, 11-14, 15-17, 18 and over, and an Open class for the more highly competitive contestants for both men and women. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome and will compete separately. (970) 349-2221.

Annual Alley Loop Cross-Country Ski Race (5K, 10K, ˝ and full marathon)
Nordic enthusiasts race through the snow-lined alleys and the outskirts of Crested Butte
in numerous events, including a 42K, the highest altitude marathon in the country.
The Alley Loop Marathon is a qualifier for the prestigious American Birkebeiner.

Randonnee Rally
The annual Life-Link/Dynafit Randonnee Rally, modeled after the popular "Rally's" in Europe, will add Crested Butte as a venue. This ski mountaineering competition will require competitors to ski their way up, down, and across Crested Butte's legendary Extreme Limits terrain. The rally begins promptly at 8AM at the ski area base, with competitors running to clip into their equipment and begin skinning up the mountain. The Rally tests competitor's alpine touring ski skills, endurance and equipment while gaining 5,000 vertical feet (approximately 3,000 vertical feet for the recreational division.) The Randonnee Rally is part of a series throughout the U.S. with competitors vying for over $10,000 in cash and prizes. The first in the U.S. to launch an extreme skiing contest, Crested Butte marks 17 years of Big Mountain competition this season. This three-event, five-race series for J-4 racers is a qualifier for the Alpine J4 Junior Olympics of the Central/Rocky Mountain Division. Annual U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships
Over 100 free-heelers take to the slopes to compete in this Telemark freeskiing event complete with welcome reception and awards party. The two-day big mountain event attracts the biggest names in the telemark industry and is unique to Crested Butte. Free telemark demos and specialty clinics also take place during this Telemark celebration culminating with the legendary Al Johnson Race.

Annual Al Johnson Memorial Uphill/Downhill Telemark Ski Race
A popular local telemark race named after a diehard 19th century Crested Butte mailman who delivered mail to remote mining camps. Hundreds of costumed participants ascend 600 vertical feet to the crest of the NorthFace, and then race down the double-black diamond terrain to the finish. (970) 349-1323

Annual Elk Mountain Grand Traverse
An extreme endurance race that links Crested Butte to Aspen. At the stroke of midnight, skiers start out over a 40-mile course that
takes them from the base of Mt. Crested Butte through remote wilderness terrain, across two mountain passes and finishes at Aspen Mountain.

Flauschink
Crested Butte’s zany end of winter festival the annual Flauschink festival will take place on Crested Butte streets, on the mountain and in local watering holes. Flauschink began in 1969 to honor Crested Butte’s old-timers, to celebrate the end of ski season and to welcome spring. Flauschink has been the fitting end to every ski season since, and it’s all about a party…but there is more....
